Capybaras are the secret custodians of history
Beneath a certain riverside onsen, the water glows gold. It is the River of Time, and the capybaras of the Order have tended it for longer than anyone remembers. Soaking, yes, but also watching.
The Order travels the way capybaras do everything: by water. Their warm waterways thread through every era, and the yuzu on the head is not a hat. It is the key: a drop of solstice magic that tells the current when to let you out.
So when a fragile moment of history begins to tangle, a bara slips into the pool… and surfaces in another century. A canal that must open. A lamp that must be lit. A rocket that must leave on time. They fix the flow, never take the credit, and are home in time for the evening yuzu bath.
History never noticed them.
That was the point.
