Who is responsible

In the game

Serious Bara (iPhone, iPad, PC, Mac, Steam Deck) runs entirely on your device. Your progress and settings are stored on the device. The game has no account, no sign-in, no advertising, no in-app purchases, no analytics and no third-party tracking code, and it does not contact our servers at all.

• On iPhone and iPad, if iCloud is on, your progress syncs through iCloud inside your own Apple account, and achievements go through Game Center. Apple runs these services; we never receive their contents. Apple's own privacy policy applies to them, to your purchase on the App Store and to any crash reports you have agreed to share with Apple.
• On Steam, cloud saves and achievements go through Steam, run by Valve. Valve's privacy policy applies to them and to your purchase.
• Children. The game is suitable for everyone and collects nothing from anyone, children included.

On this website

Visits. The web server keeps the usual access log (IP address, time, requested page, browser string) for at most 14 days to run the service securely and to spot abuse (legitimate interest, Art. 31 FADP and Art. 6 (1) f GDPR where it applies). Hosting: Hostinger International Ltd., Cyprus.

Visitor counts. We count visits with Umami, an open-source statistics tool that runs on our own server. It sets no cookies, stores no IP addresses and builds no profiles; we see aggregated numbers only: pages viewed, the referring site, country, browser and device type.

Fonts. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts (Google Ireland Ltd.), which receives your IP address for that request (Google's privacy policy). If you prefer not to, a content blocker keeps the page perfectly readable in your system font.

Waiting list. If you join the waiting list we store the first name and e-mail address you enter. You confirm by clicking the link in a confirmation e-mail (double opt-in); entries that are not confirmed are deleted automatically after 48 hours. The confirmation e-mail is delivered through Resend, our transactional mail provider. We use the address only for news about Serious Bara, never pass it on, and remove you at any time on request (one e-mail is enough).

Shop. The shop page loads its product list from Shopify in your browser, so Shopify receives your IP address when you open it. Checkout, payment and order processing run on Shopify; the items are printed and shipped on demand by Printful. Both handle your order data under their own privacy policies. We see what a shop owner sees (name, delivery address, ordered items) so we can fulfil your order and answer questions about it.

E-mail. When you write to hello@seriousbara.com, your message and address are stored on our own mail server for as long as the conversation needs, then deleted. We do not pass them on.

Your rights

This game and this site are run from Switzerland under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP); for players and visitors in the EU the GDPR applies as well. You have the right to information, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and data portability regarding your personal data, and to complain to a supervisory authority (in Switzerland: the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, FDPIC).
